In 2014, Wharton and University of Pennsylvania students Roopa Shankar, Alina Wang and Rachel Stewart founded NOMsense Bakery, a Philadelphia-based wholesale bakery specializing in handcrafted cookie sandwiches. While Stewart left the partnership last summer to work on other projects, Shankar and Wang are investing lots of time and energy into their creative cookie concept. This week, NOMsense won the Northeastern Regional Round of the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, earning $5,000 for their start-up.
