San Francisco, CA: AI Leadership
Set on Wharton’s San Francisco campus, the AI Leadership program puts students at the frontier of the transformational technology of artificial intelligence, focused on its impacts on business and society. During the nine-day program, students will engage directly with AI and GenAI tools to experience the technology hands-on and develop a deeper understanding of how AI will impact their learning, their lives, and the larger creative and business environment they will inhabit.
Overview
AI Leadership is an immersive program for students who want to explore the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and transformational technology. Held at Wharton San Francisco, students learn from Wharton faculty and industry experts while engaging in hands-on projects, site visits to top AI companies, and team-based problem solving. By the end of the program students will be able to:
- Identify and explain core AI concepts such as machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI, and describe their applications in business contexts.
- Evaluate the impact of AI on different industries by analyzing real-world use cases discussed during lectures and site visits.
- Use beginner-level AI tools and platforms like ChatGPT to prototype or support the development of a solution to a real-world problem.
- Collaborate with a team to define a problem, research relevant AI applications, and design a creative solution supported by AI technologies.
- Create and deliver a final project presentation that clearly outlines the problem, proposed AI-powered solution, target users, and potential impact, using visuals and storytelling techniques.
- Engage with industry professionals during site visits and reflecting on how insights from these experiences can be applied to their own work.
- Demonstrate understanding of ethical considerations in AI, including data privacy, bias, and responsible innovation.
- Draw connections between San Francisco’s startup ecosystem and the emerging role of AI across industries.
