Treasury notes are a means by which the U.S. government borrows money. The U.S. Treasury issues notes for redemption at pre-specified maturity dates, two to ten years after issuance, agreeing to pay a fixed rate of interest twice a year. Treasury notes are valued by investors around the world for their safety and liquidity.
