The Freedom of Speech is one of the most fundamental human freedoms, which ensures the ability of people to speak out, express dissent, and seek social, political, and economic change without punishment from the government. The Freedom of Speech is robustly protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and it is protected by constitutions and human rights laws around the world. The United States has an incredibly vibrant and open public life, full of ideas and differences in opinion, in part because our Constitution protects the freedom of speech so vigorously.
