Marginal Cost

Marginal cost is the additional expenditure that a company incurs when it produces one more unit of a product. Though the price of a video game may exceed $50, the marginal cost is under $5, as it is just the cost of making and packaging the disc, and shipping it to the store. Making a video game does, however, involve a large fixed cost.
